In the midst of tragedy and triumph there must be the belief hope is more than a whimsical concept. Hope takes on a valour role like a Greek hero's muse magically producing a reward at the end of a trying battle. It is hope that became my honoured friend as my world seemed to fall around me, as I took up the gauntlet others refused to accept. I knew the price, the cost but not the outcome of the role I was about to accept.

We are a Family Unit of 3 adult females and 5 Kids(Ages 3, 3, 7,11,14) who are ready to move into a 4+bdrm home ASAP!! We have first and last, and next to no time left.
But as it seems thus far, being on Ontario Government Assistance (O.D.S.P) is looked down upon!?

WHO IS OUR VOICE? DO WE GET A CHOICE?

Our situation is beyond even us .. Living in Housing for the last 8 years,
-we had a house fire in 2006 and lost everything due to faulty wiring in the wall & no house insurance

As the newly appointed chair person of the Ottawa Health and Social Services Advisory Committee and a new member of the Housing Network of Ontario I can only emphasize how important the newly anticipated affordable housing strategy is for Ontario's families in waiting for stable, housing in their respective communities.
