I live in an apartment in Ottawa. I am paying just under $700 rent for a modest one bedroom apartment in an older neighbourhood that is becoming gentrified. My landlord just repurchased the building last year after a series of flips, this corporation was my landlord when I moved in here four years ago. Immediately after purchasing the building all tenants recieved a letter from the landlord
"Dear Residents of :.......
Sorry to have mised you today!
I dropped by hoping to discuss a possible compensation package with you!

Well, I didn't get evicted but it was pretty traumatic. About 3 years ago, I moved from a basement apartment into an apartment with TSHCorp. If you go to their website, they will advise you of how many tenants they have and how they deal with these tenants. The pictures give you the impression that they are a caring landlord and are concerned about your well being. They have security and as my partner has PTSD and has psychotic episodes from time to time, having security who can access our apartment with their own pass key helps me sleep at nights. So far, so good.

I was happy to be present to listen to our highly esteemed Michael Shapcott, Director, Affordable Housing and Social Innovation, Wellesley Institute of Toronto , when he spoke in Ottawa on the twentieth anniversary of Options Bytown.

I was just as thankful as every other individual present to listen to Michael, and his important work worldwide.

I see this organization like the rest are doing fine; people within the poverty class are starving and living in misery, while all the Poverty Pimps line their pockets with gold then tell us they care. Hey Poverty Pimps, why do you not tell us your story, how did the Poverty Pimps become so corrupt?
